Manchester United must now turn their attention to the summer transfer window having left their business until late in January.
The Red Devils brought in Bruno Fernandes and Odion Ighalo in the final days of the winter window but are still expected to be active in the summer as they aim to restore their former glories.
Here, Sports Mole rounds up the latest news on possible comings and goings from Old Trafford.
Wednesday morning's Manchester United transfer talk news roundup:
Dean Henderson 'wants first-team assurances to stay at Manchester United'
Manchester United goalkeeper Dean Henderson wants to be assured of the number one spot at Old Trafford before committing his future to the Red Devils.
Following an impressive stint on loan at Sheffield United, where Henderson has kept 13 clean sheets during the 2019-20 Premier League season, the 23-year-old is expected to be in high demand this summer.
Henderson is set to return to Man United in time for the 2020-21 campaign, and according to The Times, the Englishman is hoping to oust David de Gea as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's first-choice goalkeeper.
De Gea has been in the spotlight for the wrong reasons on several occasions this season - most recently coming under fire for his performance in United's FA Cup semi-final defeat to Chelsea - where he let Mason Mount's long-range effort slip through his hands in the second half.
Henderson supposedly believes he has done enough to warrant the number one spot at Old Trafford, but the report claims that the shot-stopper will seek another loan move elsewhere if he is not guaranteed regular first-team football next season.
Chelsea are rumoured to be keeping a close eye on developments surrounding Henderson's future ahead of the summer transfer window.
Aston Villa's Jack Grealish opens door to Manchester United move
Aston Villa captain Jack Grealish has admitted that he does not know if he has played his last game for the West Midlands outfit amid persistent speculation regarding his future.
Grealish has been strongly linked with a move to Manchester United in recent months, with Villa teetering on the brink of relegation with just one game left to go.
Dean Smith's side gave their survival hopes a huge boost as they enjoyed a 1-0 win over Arsenal on Tuesday evening, but Grealish confirmed after the game that his long-term future remains undecided.
"I'm not too sure at the moment," Grealish told Sky Sports News when asked if he had played his final game in a Villa shirt.
"I have one aim and that's to keep Villa in the Premier League. That's all I'm thinking about at the moment."
Villa climbed out of the relegation zone after taking all three points against the Gunners in midweek, with Smith's side now three points above Bournemouth and ahead of Watford on goal difference heading into the final day.
