Manchester United and Chelsea have reportedly joined Manchester City in the race to sign Bournemouth centre-back Nathan Ake.

The Netherlands international is rumoured to have already entered talks with recently-dethroned Premier League champions City over a £35m transfer.

According to The Sun, however, Ake is in no rush to complete a switch to the Etihad Stadium as he is expecting other offers to be tabled.

Chelsea retain a buy-back option on the 25-year-old after selling him to Bournemouth in 2017 and Frank Lampard is on the lookout for a new defender.

United are also searching for a player to partner Harry Maguire in the heart of their defence next season, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer known to be a fan of the Dutchman.

Bournemouth appear certain to cash in on Ake either way this summer, with the Cherries on the brink of being relegated from the Premier League.
