Bayern Munich 'make contact with Frenkie de Jong agent'

Bayern Munich make contact with the agent of Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong to discuss a move to the club, according to a report.

Bayern Munich have reportedly made contact with the agent of Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong to discuss a possible move to Allianz Arena.

The 24-year-old has again been an important player for the Catalan giants this season, making 25 appearances in all competitions, contributing one goal and two assists in the process.

Barcelona are said to be prepared to sell the Netherlands international this year, though, with the Catalan outfit looking to ease their financial problems.

De Jong has been linked with a move to the Premier League, with Chelsea, Manchester United and Manchester City all credited with an interest.

However, according to Marca, Bayern are currently leading the interest in the Dutchman, with the German giants making contact with his agent.

The report claims that the Bundesliga champions want De Jong to arrive at Allianz Arena this month rather than waiting until the end of the campaign.

The midfielder, who has a contract at Camp Nou until June 2026, has made 118 appearances for Barcelona since arriving from Ajax in July 2019. body check tags ::
