Daley Blind: Goalless draw against Burnley "hard to believe"

Daley Blind calls for calm after Manchester United's winless league run stretched to a fourth game, but admits that his side must start putting away their chances.

Manchester United defender Daley Blind has insisted that his side could not have done much more to earn victory against Burnley on Saturday.

The Red Devils were held to a frustrating goalless draw at Old Trafford in a match that saw visiting keeper Tom Heaton produce a fine individual display to thwart his former side.

United ended the match boasting 72% possession and fired away a total of 37 shots, 11 of which were on target, but not for the first time in recent weeks they were unable to make their dominance count in front of goal.

Blind is not panicking just yet, though, and says that United are on the right path towards getting their league form back on track after four games without a win.

"It is hard to believe," The Mirror quotes him as saying. "I think we created 50 chances, maybe more, then it is hard to believe we didn't even score one goal. I think we made the keeper that good because we missed chances, he gets more trust and then he gets in his game.

"He's a good goalkeeper today but in spite of that we should have scored a goal, I think. We had so many chances. I think as a team the team performance we were positive and a lot of energy we brought into the team. We didn't give much away, not even a big chance, so we did well in defence with the team.

"It's a bit frustrating. There isn't that much more you could do more. The only thing is that we had to finish because we were we were on top of them, we didn't give them any space. We created chances, we played attacking football and I think that's what the people want to see, only we missed goals today."

United have now won just two of their last six games in all competitions, while star forward Zlatan Ibrahimovic has gone six league games without a goal for the first time in nine years.
