Manchester United midfielder Michael Carrick has insisted that he never considered leaving the club this summer.
The recent arrivals of Bastian Schweinsteiger and Morgan Schneiderlin had resulted in reports that Carrick could leave Old Trafford before the end of the transfer window in search of regular starting action elsewhere.
However, having started the opening clash of the new Premier League season against Tottenham Hotspur at the weekend, the 34-year-old stressed that departing United had not come into his thinking.
"[Leaving is] not something I ever thought about at all. It's never been an issue," he told Sky Sports News.
Carrick joined the Red Devils from Spurs in 2006 and has gone on to make 380 appearances for the club.
