Angel di Maria admits that he is hoping to stay at Manchester United for "many years to come" after starting his Premier League career impressively.

Angel di Maria has revealed that he is hoping to stay at Manchester United for "many years to come" after making a promising start to life at Old Trafford.

The Argentine scored the first of United's two goals in a 2-1 victory over Everton on Sunday, and he has declared his happiness with how his experience has been in the Premier League since arriving from Real Madrid.

"Leaving a club like Real and coming to as big a club as Manchester United makes you grow as a player and helps you progress in your career," Di Maria told MUTV before Sunday's win. "It was a very important moment and I'm really happy here.

"Since the day I arrived, people have shown real warmth towards me – at every corner kick or free kick, or even during open play, every time I have the ball I feel they're right behind me. That always makes you feel even happier.

"Let's hope things go well for me so I can be here for many years to come."

The triumph over Everton has sent United to fourth in the Premier League table.
