Erik ten Hag has revealed that he has already held phone conversations with a number of Manchester United players.
Ever since being named as the successor to Ralf Rangnick several weeks ago, Ten Hag has consistently said that his full focus was on guiding Ajax to the Eredivisie title.
With that having been achieved last week, Ten Hag now seems ready to get to work at Old Trafford earlier than anticipated, the 52-year-old opting to miss a planned post-season trip with the league champions.
In an interview with De Telegraaf, Ten Hag has also acknowledged that there has been contact between himself and some of the first-team squad.
The Dutchman said: "I did receive some WhatsApp messages from them [the players] already, saying welcome to the club."
Ten Hag told the same outlet that he planned to have Cristiano Ronaldo in his squad next season, dismissing speculation regarding a potential exit. body check tags ::
