Erik ten Hag has reportedly made three demands before he agrees to sign a new Manchester United contract.

The Dutchman has had to wait nervously to learn whether the club's recent FA Cup triumph would be enough to save his job.

Following an uncertain period, it was recently revealed that the club's co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe has decided to keep faith with Ten Hag after holding an end-of-season review.

While Ten Hag will lead Man United into next season, there is still some uncertainty surrounding his long-term future at Old Trafford.

The former Ajax boss is set to enter the final 12 months of his contract after signing a two-year deal with an option for a third year upon his arrival in 2022.

Ten Hag makes three contract demands

According to the The Telegraph, Ten Hag is set to sign a two-year contract which will supersede his current deal and keep him at the club until June 2027.

The report claims that Ten Hag will have to work within the club's new-look structure, giving him less of a say on potential transfers.

However, The Sun are reporting that the 54-year-old is not willing to relinquish control of transfers and has made it one of his three demands in contract negotiations.

Ten Hag is keen to have a key say in any incoming and outgoings as he looks to build a squad that can improve upon last season's disappointing eighth-placed finish.

Ten Hag outlines Sancho, McCarthy stance

The Man United boss also wants two other demands met before he considers putting pen to paper on a new contract.

Ten Hag is still insisting that he will now allow Jadon Sancho to return to the first-team setup unless he apologises for effectively calling him a liar.

Sancho claimed that he had been made a "scapegoat" after the Dutchman said that he had left him out of the squad for September's clash with Arsenal due to his poor performances in training.

It was previously suggested that Sancho would only be willing to stay with the club if Ten Hag was relieved of his duties as manager.

Ten Hag also wants assurances that Benni McCarthy will be offered a new contract to continue in his role as first-team coach.
