Manchester United head coach Erik ten Hag has firmly denied suggestions that his agent Kees Vos has too much power when it comes to major decisions at the club.

A recent report claimed that a number of staff at the club had raised concerns over Vos, who is in charge of Dutch agency SEM.

Ten Hag's agent is said to have played a leading role in bringing Rasmus Hojlund to the club from Atalanta BC during the summer transfer window.

Vos is also said to have been heavily involved in Sofyan Amrabat's loan switch to Old Trafford from Fiorentina on transfer deadline day.

Staff at Old Trafford are allegedly becoming concerned by his influence when it comes to the transfer market, but Ten Hag brushed aside the suggestions when asked about his representative.

"It can't be [too much] because we make very good agreements about it from the start, how we co-operate in the matter," the Man United head coach told reporters during his press conference on Friday.

"So for player decisions, transfers, it is always 50/50 and both are involved. The club, by John Murtough, and me. So there never can be any distraction."

Ten Hag was also asked about leaks from inside the club, with a report claiming that many players are unhappy with how David de Gea's exit over the summer was handled.

"I don't know if it is a leak but I know the opinion. I know my players. I know my players, everyone can make suggestions. We are okay with it," he said.

Andre Onana's start was also a topic during the press conference, with the Cameroonian conceding 14 times in his first six appearances for the club.

The 27-year-old apologised to his teammates for his role in Wednesday's 4-3 loss to Bayern Munich, as the goalkeeper allowed a tame strike from Leroy Sane to find the back of the net after Man United had made an accomplished start.

However, Ten Hag refused to single out Onana's form, insisting that the team's performance as a whole needs to be stronger.

"It's about [the] team and, as a team, we don't have the results at the moment. So then, also, the individuals don't bring the performance you expect, and not only one player but more and including the manager," the Dutchman added.

Ten Hag also confirmed on Friday that Jadon Sancho was still out of the first-team picture, with the Englishman appearing to be unwilling to apologise to Ten Hag for his social media outburst earlier this month. body check tags ::
