Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has stated that Rio Ferdinand is working to ensure that Paul Pogba commits his future to the club.
Pogba, 18, has yet to sign a new deal at United, with a host of European clubs circling the former Le Havre midfielder.
Ferguson, however, is confident that the influence of Ferdinand will convince the Frenchman to remain at Old Trafford.
"Rio has become an important figure at the club. He is good with the players. He is good with the young players. At the moment, he is working hard on the boy Pogba and talking to him. The young boy is unsure. But Rio is well regarded," Ferguson told BBC Radio 5 Live.
Pogba could be involved when United face Ajax in the Europa League on Thursday evening.
