Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has offered his sympathies following the passing of Gary Speed.
The late Wales manager has received a mass of tributes after he was found dead at his home in Cheshire on Sunday morning.
"I would just like to say that here at Old Trafford we are shocked at the tragic death of Gary Speed at the age of 42," said Ferguson.
"He became part of our football family after settling in these parts as manager of Wales following a fine career as a true and honest professional. Our sympathies go to his family."
An inquest into the apparent suicide of the Leeds United legend will take place at Warrington's Coroner's Court at 3pm today.
