Sir Alex Ferguson is reportedly planning to hand defender Alexander Buttner his Manchester United debut at the weekend.
The 23-year-old Dutchman, who joined the Red Devils in a £3.9m move from Vitesse Arnhem in August, played 90 minutes for the club's reserve side two weeks ago.
First-choice left-back Patrice Evra came in for some criticism for his performance during United's 3-2 win over Southampton earlier this month and, according to The Mirror, Ferguson is intending to drop the Frenchman in favour of Buttner when Wigan Athletic visit to Old Trafford on Saturday.
Evra, 31, has made 209 Premier League appearances over the past six-and-a-half seasons.
