Jurgen Klopp becomes fastest Liverpool boss to 200 wins with Manchester United rout

Liverpool's 5-0 thrashing of Manchester United sees Jurgen Klopp become the fastest manager in the club's history to reach 200 wins at the helm.

Jurgen Klopp has become the fastest Liverpool manager to reach 200 wins in charge of the club courtesy of his side's 5-0 hammering of bitter rivals Manchester United this afternoon.

The German brought up the landmark in style, recording Liverpool's biggest ever away win over Man United at Old Trafford courtesy of goals from Naby Keita, Diogo Jota and a Mohamed Salah hat-trick.

Klopp is only the fifth manager in Liverpool history to reach a double-century of victories, following in the footsteps of Tom Watson, Bill Shankly, Bob Paisley and Sir Kenny Dalglish.

However, the 54-year-old has reached 200 wins in just 331 games - two games quicker than the previous record, which was held by Dalglish.

Speaking about the record after the match, Klopp told Sky Sports News: "That's a big one as well. I understand myself as a positive person.

"I have a few defeats in my mind that were absolutely not necessary to be honest. But we won today so we drink a beer on the way home - [just] one - and when I drink the beer I will think about that as well, so it's a nice achievement."

Klopp is also the first manager in Liverpool history to have gone seven league games in a row without defeat against Manchester United.

Dalglish is the only boss who can better Klopp's win percentage of 60.42%, although he remains a whopping 207 wins short of Shankly's club record of victories in charge of the Reds. body check tags ::
