Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini has claimed that the Premier League table is not a true reflection of the campaign.
The North-West outfit, who clinched the title in dramatic fashion last season, are now 15 points behind leaders Manchester United with eight games left to play.
While Mancini believes that United are worthy table toppers, the Italian doesn't think that the Red Devils deserve to be leading by such a big margin.
"We do not deserve to be 15 points behind Manchester United," Mancini said in a press conference. "They play very well and have won a lot of games and they deserved to stay on top but not by 15 points.
"The table is not true. Now we have eight games and if we win a lot of those games maybe we can close that gap."
City will go up against their rivals at Old Trafford on Monday evening.
