Jose Mourinho will earn a salary of £15m a season when he takes the helm at Manchester United, according to a report in The Mirror.
The former Chelsea boss is thought to be on the cusp of a deal to take over from Louis van Gaal at Old Trafford at the end of the current campaign, with a three-year agreement "in principle" already reached between the two parties.
Mourinho's expected wage packet of £15m would be the second-highest in world football, behind only the rumoured £21m-a-season salary awaiting his old foe Pep Guardiola when he takes over at Manchester City this summer.
The Portuguese earned roughly the same during his second spell in charge of the Blues, although it will be more than double Van Gaal's current salary of £7.3m.
United's executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward is expected to be grilled about Van Gaal's performance during a conference call with investors on Thursday afternoon.
