Manchester United manager David Moyes has claimed that he sees Wayne Rooney's inclusion in England's friendly against Scotland tonight as a positive.
Rooney has only played 45 minutes of pre-season this summer after suffering injuries amid intense daily speculation on his future.
United have rejected two bids from Chelsea for their England striker and Moyes has said that his inclusion in tonight's friendly is a positive for the champions.
"Everyone likes to see him performing well, Wayne's missed a few games, so tonight is a plus that he's getting a game," Moyes told ITV Sport.
"He's only played 45 minutes [this pre-season] and I'm sure he'll be looking forward to it. It is still pre-season isn't it so he's got to get them games in first.
"He's trained well [until he] picked up a couple of injuries so he'll be looking forward to the game."
A recent report claimed that United had told Chelsea directly that Rooney was not for sale.
