Manchester United manager David Moyes has revealed that Wayne Rooney is on course to feature during the club's pre-season friendly in Sweden next month.
The striker, who is believed to want a move away from Old Trafford, was sent home from the tour of the Far East and Australia earlier this month because of a hamstring injury.
Despite a bid from Chelsea, Moyes has insisted that the England international is not for sale at any price. As a result, Rooney is expected to join up with his teammates in Stockholm on August 6.
"We have said and the club have said he is not for sale. That has not changed. I do expect Wayne to be in Stockholm," the Scottish boss told MUTV.
"As far as we know Wayne is coming on. He's started light jogging and the feedback I'm getting from the physios is that he's progressing. Hopefully those dates are still on track."
Moyes was speaking after his side were beaten 3-2 by Yokohama F Marinos earlier today.
