Newcastle manager Alan Pardew has claimed that Sir Alex Ferguson's record at Manchester United is unimaginable and that the veteran is 'ridiculous'.
Pardew's team host United on Wednesday evening and the former West Ham manager took the opportunity to praise Ferguson's record.
Asked whether Ferguson was the benchmark for all managers, Pardew said: "He isn't really because he's just ridiculous.
"Something like 50 trophies - you just can't possibly imagine getting yourself into a position to win that many."
The 70-year-old, who recently celebrated 25 years as manager at Old Trafford, has committed to staying at the club for at least three more years
