Gary Neville has stepped down from his role as an ambassador at Manchester United, according to a report.
The 39-year-old was handed the role in 2011 following his retirement from the game after 19 years as a professional with the Red Devils.
However, Neville's coaching duties with England, along with his work as a pundit on Sky Sports have restricted the amount of time that he could commit to the position, leading him to deciding to quit the role, reports The Mirror.
Neville angered United boss Louis van Gaal as he compared the Red Devils to a pub team due to their recent poor displays.
