Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has banned Bastian Schweinsteiger from playing for the club's reserves team, according to a report.
The ex-Germany international has been told that he has no future at Old Trafford, having so far been overlooked for inclusion by the Portuguese during the opening few months of his Old Trafford reign.
Schweinsteiger turned down the chance to leave United in the closing stages of the transfer window and has still yet to play a single minute, and The Mirror claims that the experienced midfielder's request to play for the second-string side has now been rejected.
It is suggested that the former Bayern Munich man, who is still earning £170,000 a week, will continue to be frozen out indefinitely until he seeks a move to another club.
A string of Major League Soccer sides have been linked with Schweinsteiger, but New York Red Bulls recently ruled themselves out of the running to land his signature in the New Year.
