Luke Shaw has admitted that he cannot wait to face Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain when Manchester United take on the pair during their pre-season tour of the USA later this summer.
Soon after they arrive on the other side of the Atlantic next week, Louis van Gaal's men will face Club America and San Jose Earthquakes, before they come up against two of European football's biggest names.
Looking ahead to those two games, Shaw has insisted that the Red Devils can use them as "a little taster" for next season's Champions League, providing that United come through a qualifier in August.
"From my perspective, I'm really looking forward to playing against Barcelona and PSG, two of the best clubs in the world. It's something to really look forward to, not only for me, but for the whole team," the 19-year-old told the club's official website.
"The best teams are playing against the best teams and I think it's a little taster of what we might be able to expect in the Champions League.
"If we can get through the qualifier, we could get them in the Champions League, so it's nice to be playing teams like that and I'm sure they'll be looking at it in the same way – to play against Manchester United is always a big occasion."
Shaw joined United 12 months ago from Southampton in a deal thought to be worth around £30m.
