Manchester United head coach Erik ten Hag has hinted that Jadon Sancho, Anthony Martial, Marcus Rashford and Bruno Fernandes will start the team's Premier League opener with Brighton & Hove Albion.
In the absence of Cristiano Ronaldo, Martial has excelled for the Red Devils during pre-season, finding the back of the net on three occasions against Liverpool, Melbourne Victory and Crystal Palace.
Sancho and Rashford have scored twice each, while Fernandes has started all three fixtures, with the Portuguese expected to be an important player for the team next term.
Ten Hag has hinted that the quartet will start the league opener against Brighton on August 7 amid the ongoing speculation surrounding Ronaldo's future at Old Trafford.
"It can be. You see they connect really good together. I think when you see that you are lucky as a manager, the team is lucky, we have a threat, we have weapons, and we have to improve that every day, to develop that," Ten Hag told reporters.
Ten Hag has said that the need to be ready for the start of the 2022-23 Premier League campaign has prevented him from handing more minutes to the club's youngsters on their pre-season tour.
"We have a squad here and we don't have a lot of time, we have to be ready for August 7, the squad here is defined in generations. We have experienced players, but also we wanted to give some young talents the chance, while they deserved it, to be here," he added.
"I cannot give all young players the chances they maybe deserve, because we have to construct a team. It is good to have them in, I see them daily in training, so I get a really good impression from them, from there on we can develop them by good plans, that is the idea.
"Not all youngsters have gained minutes, I have to set priorities, but in future they will play an important role I think for building Man United."
James Garner is yet to feature for the Red Devils on their pre-season tour of Thailand and Australia, with the central midfielder struggling with a fitness problem.
The 21-year-old is pushing to be involved in Saturday's clash with Aston Villa, and Ten Hag has said that he still needs to make a decision on the midfielder, who starred on loan at Nottingham Forest last term.
Meanwhile, Hannibal Mejbri has only played once for the Red Devils this summer, with the 19-year-old battling to be a part of the first-team squad for the new campaign.
"James Garner integrated into training this week, so I haven't seen him. I don't have a full impression of him and I want to see more. I will then answer the question, and make conclusions and decisions," said Ten Hag.
"Hannibal Mejbri, he plays some minutes now and I think he did quite well, in training as well. He makes quite a good impression. I think they do well [youngsters].
"I also know the standards in the Premier League are really high and it's always about are they ready to take the responsibility to play, to contribute. That's what I have to prove and I will take my decisions. It's clear some of them have potential."
Man United will round off their pre-season tour against Villa on Saturday before facing Atletico Madrid and Rayo Vallecano in their final two friendlies of the summer next weekend. body check tags ::
