Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is reportedly considering handing Donny van de Beek his first Premier League start of the season against Watford on Saturday.
The Netherlands international continues to be linked with a move away from Old Trafford, having largely struggled to make his mark for the club since arriving from Ajax in September 2020.
Van de Beek has only played 16 minutes of Premier League football this season, with Solskjaer constantly overlooking the Dutchman.
However, according to The Mirror, the 24-year-old has impressed Man United's coaching staff with his performances in training this week and is now in contention to start at Vicarage Road.
Scott McTominay and Fred are both expected to be available for the Red Devils on Saturday despite illness and international commitments respectively, but Van de Beek could still be selected from the start.
Solskjaer is under serious pressure to deliver a positive result this weekend, with the 20-time English champions winning just one of their last six league matches, suffering four defeats in the process.
