Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal has claimed that young Andreas Pereira was the 'only highlight' in his team's second-half display against pre-season opponents San Jose Earthquakes in California on Tuesday.
The Red Devils grabbed a 3-1 victory as Juan Mata, new signing Memphis Depay and Pereira found the back of the net.
While Van Gaal was pleased with his players' performance in the first 45 minutes, the Dutchman was critical of the display following the half-time break.
"The first half I was satisfied," Van Gaal is quoted by the club's official Twitter page as saying. "The second half I think we played badly. There was only one highlight in the second half and that was Pereira."
United are unbeaten in their pre-season schedule, having won two games so far.
