Manchester United and Netherlands striker Robin van Persie has calmed concerns that he has been suffering with a broken toe.
The 30-year-old was forced to sit out of training with his national side on Tuesday due to the knock he picked up while playing for United in their 1-1 draw with Shakhtar Donetsk in the Champions League last week.
There were concerns that Van Persie could miss the Netherlands' final World Cup qualifiers against Hungary and Turkey, but the former Arsenal captain is hopeful of playing a part.
"I got an enormous stamp on my toe and I really thought it had been broken, but luckily a scan showed it was not," ESPN quotes Van Persie as saying. "I played on Sunday but the injury has not got better."
Van Persie is two goals shy of reaching Patrick Kluivert's 40-goal record for the Netherlands.
