Manchester United captain Nemanja Vidic has admitted that he was pleased to play 90 minutes this evening, and hopes to be ready for the first game of the season.
Vidic played the full game against AIK football after missing the start of United's pre-season because of injury.
He said that he hopes to play another full game before the Premier League season starts.
"I am pleased to have 90 minutes under my belt," he told the club's official website.
"It's been a long time since I played a full game. I am pleased with that and I hope that after this game I can pick up my fitness and I will be ready for the beginning of the season.
"I got 90 minutes tonight and we have two more games before the start of the league season. Hopefully I can get another 90 minutes before then."
United begin the defence of their Premier League title with a trip to Swansea City on August 17.
