Manchester United winger Ashley Young has praised colleague Angel Di Maria and believes that the British-record signing was Real Madrid's standout player last season.
The Argentine was quick out of the blocks at Old Trafford at the start of the this campaign, but his performances have faded somewhat since returning from a hamstring problem towards the end of 2014.
However, Young is quoted by ITV Sport as saying: "Angel was a fantastic signing.
"Real Madrid have other top players in their team, like Gareth Bale and Cristiano Ronaldo, but he was the one who stood out for me in that team last season.
"We saw in the first couple of days in training just how good a player Angel is and what we can expect from him. He was definitely a great signing for us."
Manchester United's next game is away at Preston North End in the FA Cup fifth round on Monday evening.
