How Manchester United could line up against West Ham United

Sports Mole takes an in-depth look at how Manchester United could line up for Sunday's Premier League clash with West Ham United.

Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag has played down fears of a fresh injury for Lisandro Martinez ahead of Sunday's Premier League clash with West Ham United at Old Trafford.

The Argentina international was taken off in the dying embers of Thursday's 4-3 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers, where he made his first Premier League start since September, and was seen icing his foot in the dugout after being hauled off.

Martinez's dose of treatment naturally raised fears that he had exacerbated his previous foot problems, but Ten Hag insisted that the alteration was a precautionary one, and he ought to be fine to reprise his role on Sunday.

Sofyan Amrabat (international) and Victor Lindelof (groin) are also in with a chance of coming back, but Anthony Martial (groin), Aaron Wan-Bissaka (leg), Mason Mount (calf) and Tyrell Malacia (knee) remain out of contention.

Harry Maguire will step in for Martinez if needed, but at the time of writing, the latter should be given the thumbs-up to protect Andre Onana with Diogo Dalot, Luke Shaw and Raphael Varane in an unaltered backline.

However, Ten Hag has stressed the need to carefully manage Casemiro's fitness, so Scott McTominay - who scored within seconds of coming off the bench at Molineux - could join injury-time hero Kobbie Mainoo in the centre of the park.

Following a tumultuous period off the field, Marcus Rashford made headlines for the right reasons with the opening goal on Thursday and has surely done enough to join Antony and Bruno Fernandes up front once more.

Rashford's strike was set up by Rasmus Hojlund, who subsequently got in on the act to become the youngest Man United player to score and assist in successive Premier League games, breaking the record set by Cristiano Ronaldo.
