Could we be nearing the end of the Erik ten Hag era at Manchester United?

Kids In Glass Houses guitarist Iain Mahanty believes the pressure will ramp up even further this weekend, forecasting a scoreline which would surely leave the Dutchman hanging on by a thread when Man United take on Aston Villa on Sunday.

Arsenal fan Mahanty is the latest musician to take on Sports Mole's weekly Premier League predictions challenge, but despite his allegiances, he does not expect the Gunners to gain any ground on Liverpool and Manchester City in the title race this weekend.

All three of those front-runners are in action on Saturday in gameweek seven - the last before the second international break of the season - with Liverpool kicking things off at Crystal Palace before Arsenal and Man City feature in the 3pm matches.

Everton host Newcastle United in Saturday's late kickoff, while there are three matches on Sunday as those who took part in European competition on Thursday - Man United, Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur - all play.

Crystal Palace vs. Liverpool

Iain: Crystal Palace 1-2 Liverpool

Sports Mole: Crystal Palace 0-2 Liverpool

While Palace can often rock up to Anfield and spring a surprise, the Eagles seldom outwit Liverpool on their own patch, and 38 goals conceded at home to the Reds is their most against a single opponent in the Premier League.

That figure should hit 40 on Saturday, as even if Slot's men show a touch of fatigue, the Dutchman is blessed with several competent options for change and will likely be celebrating going four points clear at the full-time whistle.

Arsenal vs. Southampton

Iain: Arsenal 2-0 Southampton

Sports Mole: Arsenal 4-0 Southampton

Gooners who witnessed the end of Arsene Wenger's reign can tell you that possession often counts for nothing in the Premier League, as Southampton are finding out the hard way, and the toothless Saints surely do not have a prayer of threatening a rigid Arsenal defence.

Martin's men may keep the hosts at bay for a short while, but Arteta's rampant crop will no doubt break through eventually, and the goals could flow thereafter.

Brentford vs. Wolves

Iain: Brentford 1-0 Wolves

Sports Mole: Brentford 2-2 Wolves

Wolves' early-season results do not paint the full picture for O'Neil's side, who have faced several big-hitters early on, and the goal-happy visitors are not short of attacking options ready to capitalise on Brentford's home defensive woes.

Keeping the ball out of their own goal remains a serious issue for the visitors, but as Brentford have a habit of letting leads slip, we can envisage Wolves biting back to earn a point, albeit one that extends their painful wait for all three.

Leicester vs. Bournemouth

Iain: Leicester 0-0 Bournemouth

Sports Mole: Leicester 1-2 Bournemouth

Both teams will view this fixture as a good opportunity to pick up maximum points and head into the international break on a high.

Cooper is desperate to claim his first league win as Leicester boss, but he may have to wait a little while longer as we are backing the Cherries to prevail against a defensively-frail Foxes outfit at the King Power.

Man City vs. Fulham

Iain: Man City 3-1 Fulham

Sports Mole: Man City 3-1 Fulham

Following a bright start to the campaign, Fulham cannot be taken lightly and there are concerns about how the threatening pace of the Cottagers' attackers could expose the hosts in transition.

Man City have conceded in each of their last five league games and their defence could be breached once again by an in-form Fulham outfit, but we are still backing Guardiola's men to outscore their opponents and extend their impressive winning streak against Silva's side.

West Ham vs. Ipswich

Iain: West Ham 1-0 Ipswich

Sports Mole: West Ham 1-2 Ipswich

The pieces are not falling into place for Lopetegui at West Ham, while in contrast, Ipswich have made themselves difficult to beat in recent weeks and seem to be finding their feet under McKenna as a top-flight club.

A closely-fought contest could be in store at the London Stadium, but we are predicting a shock on the cards in this one and for Ipswich to win their first Premier League game of the season.

Everton vs. Newcastle

Iain: Everton 1-1 Newcastle

Sports Mole: Everton 1-2 Newcastle

Both teams have been playing good football, especially in the final third, but only one side has the points to show for it so far, and that is Newcastle.

The possible absence of Branthwaite will be huge, as Everton have proven incapable of defending without him in the team so far this season, so the visitors will be favourites despite potentially being without top scorer Isak.

Aston Villa vs. Man Utd

Iain: Aston Villa 3-0 Man Utd

Sports Mole: Aston Villa 2-1 Man Utd

As Villa played at home on Wednesday, and Man United played away on Thursday, Emery's men should no doubt boast the fresher set of legs on Sunday, and there is still a real lack of identity about a disjointed Man United.

The Red Devils may have had Villa's number in recent years, but Emery's side have our thumbs-up to continue their hot streak and march to the hard-fought win that might seal Ten Hag's fate.

Chelsea vs. Nott'm Forest

Iain: Chelsea 2-0 Nott'm Forest

Sports Mole: Chelsea 2-0 Nott'm Forest

Forest have restricted their Premier League rivals to just 18 shots on target so far this season - only Manchester City can boast such a low tally - so Chelsea cannot expect to carve open the Tricky Trees with ease.

However, when there is a Palmer, there is a way, and a rejigged Blues team should still run into minimal difficulty as they make it six victories on the spin.

Brighton vs. Spurs

Iain: Brighton 1-1 Spurs

Sports Mole: Brighton 1-2 Spurs

Both sides have scored in each of the last three fixtures between Brighton and Tottenham, and Sunday's affair should be no different, especially given the Seagulls' recent propensity for high-scoring contests.

No side in the top flight has had more shots on target than Spurs' 45 so far this season, though, and with a bunch of well-rested regulars back in the fold, Postecoglou's men have our vote to continue their wonderful winning sequence.

Iain Mahanty Q&A

How did you come to support Arsenal and what are your favourite memories from your time as a fan?

My dad moved over in the 70s and used to go watch Villa, so that was his team, but there was no pressure for me to follow suit.. I can't really remember how it happened but around the age of 7 or 8 Ian Wright appeared in my world and I was so compelled.

Not just the way he played, but his attitude absolutely amazed me at that age. I started supporting Arsenal and obviously fell in love with the team, the way we played, the characters we had, the grit and the flair. It's absolutely class to see that back in the club.

Favourite moments include:

My old man taking me to my first game in the 1996-97 season. Living in Wales we didn't get to go that often, but he got me tickets for Arsenal vs. Forest for my birthday that year.

1997-98 Double.

Niche, but this one hit - Wrighty breaking Bastin's goalscoring record, I've still got the Re-Wrighting the Record VHS somewhere, used to absolutely hammer the views on that.

Invincibles season is a no brainer.

Even though we didn't do it last season - the last game of last season there was such an amazing buzz in the ground leading up to kick off. Disappointing not to go the distance but the atmosphere's changed so much in recent times I'm going to stick that in there as a marker for everyone feeling good about the Arsenal again.

What's going on with the band at the moment?

We started the year recording our latest album, Pink Flamingo which I was co-producing. So from Feb until May we were working on that, and we couldn't be prouder of it. It's been so great to get back together and write music as Kids In Glass Houses again, and being able to share new material after so long.

Since finishing the album it's been a steady stream of making music videos, playing some live shows and releasing singles into the world. Now we're just getting ready for the run of live shows we have coming at the end of October and start of November to coincide with the release of our new album Pink Flamingo, which is out on October 25.
