Manchester United interim head coach Ralf Rangnick has made one change to his side for Monday's Premier League clash with Brentford at Old Trafford.

Marcus Rashford struggled to make his mark against Chelsea on Thursday evening and drops to the bench, with Juan Mata coming into the starting side.

The Red Devils are currently sixth in the table, three points ahead of seventh-placed West Ham United, while Brentford, who have won five of their last seven in England's top flight, sit 14th.

Mason Greenwood remains unavailable for selection due to a club suspension, while Paul Pogba (calf) and Luke Shaw (leg) are expected to miss the remainder of the campaign.

Club captain Harry Maguire is also unavailable due to a knee problem, while Jadon Sancho has tonsillitis so is again absent, meaning that Mata and Anthony Elanga will support Cristiano Ronaldo.

Fred and Edinson Cavani have both returned to the bench, though, while there is also a spot among the substitutes for Jesse Lingard, who missed out against Chelsea on Thursday night for personal reasons.

Scott McTominay and Nemanja Matic will feature in midfield, while youngsters Alejandro Garnacho and Alvaro Fernandez are on the bench.

Monday's match will represent Matic's final appearance for the Red Devils at Old Trafford, as the Serbia international will be leaving the club on a free transfer this summer.

Eric Bailly, Phil Jones, Lingard, Mata and Cavani are also likely to be on their way out of the club ahead of next season, with Bailly and Jones potentially being sold, and Lingard, Mata and Cavani out of contract.

Diogo Dalot and Alex Telles will again operate in the full-back areas this evening, while Bruno Fernandes will skipper the 20-time English champions in the absence of Maguire, who could miss the rest of the season with his knee injury.

There remains widespread speculation surrounding Ronaldo's future at Old Trafford, with the Portugal international thought to be considering leaving the club in the upcoming market.

Real Madrid are believed to be interested in re-signing the forward, who has scored 23 goals in 36 appearances for Man United during the 2021-22 campaign, including 17 strikes in the Premier League.

Ronaldo again leads the line for the home side in this match, and he will be hoping to get closer to both Mohamed Salah and Son Heung-min in the goalscoring charts, with the duo netting 22 and 19 respectively in the Premier League this term to sit first and second on the list.

The Portuguese was again on the scoresheet against Chelsea on Thursday night, while the match brought a first-team debut for Garnacho, who featured in the final exchanges.

The 17-year-old is again on the bench in this match and will be determined to stay in the first-team squad for the club's final two matches of the campaign against Brighton & Hove Albion and Crystal Palace.
