Paul Pogba starts and Zlatan Ibrahimovic is on the Manchester United bench against Newcastle United.

Paul Pogba starts and Zlatan Ibrahimovic is on the Manchester United bench as they welcome Newcastle United to Old Trafford this evening.

United manager Jose Mourinho also names both Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial alongside Romelu Lukaku in his starting lineup as he looks to bounce back from a 1-0 defeat at Chelsea before the international break.

In all, Mourinho makes four changes from last time out, with Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Eric Bailly missing from the matchday squad altogether.

Pogba, back in the fold after a 12-week layoff with a hamstring injury, slots into the midfield alongside Nemanja Matic and the returning Juan Mata, while Ander Herrera drops to the bench.

Phil Jones suffered a thigh injury while on international duty with England and is absent today, meaning a recall for Victor Lindelof alongside Chris Smalling, Ashley Young and Antonio Valencia.

Ibrahimovic returns to the squad having been on the sidelines with cruciate knee ligament damage since April and is joined on the bench by Marcos Rojo, also back in the fold after being out since April with his own knee problems.

Other options for Mourinho include Marouane Fellaini, Luke Shaw and Jesse Lingard.

As for the Magpies, Rafael Benitez makes two enforced changes from the 1-0 defeat to Bournemouth a fortnight ago, switching to a more attack-minded 4-3-3 formation.

Daryl Murphy comes into the frontline, linking up with Dwight Gayle and Joselu, while Christian Atsu misses out with a thigh injury.

Skipper Jamaal Lascelles also misses out on the trip down to Old Trafford, meaning a recall for Ciaran Clark in defence alongside DeAndre Yedlin, Florian Lejeune and Javi Manquillo.

Matt Ritchie, Isaac Hayden and Jonjo Shelvey keep their places in midfield and Rob Elliot stays put between the posts.
