Arsenal have reportedly made contact with the entourage of Lyon striker Moussa Dembele over a proposed summer move for the striker.
The 23-year-old has been linked with a number of top European clubs following an impressive campaign with the French outfit, with Manchester United, Chelsea and Liverpool all credited with an interest.
Arsenal could be forced to sell club captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang this summer if the Gabon international does not agree terms over a new deal, and the Gunners have supposedly made their interest in Dembele clear amid speculation over Aubameyang's future.
According to L'Equipe, Mikel Arteta's side have been in touch with the player's representatives regarding a potential move, but Dembele's price tag could potentially scupper a deal.
The report claims that Lyon are holding out for a fee of £60m for the 23-year-old, and Arsenal have turned their attention to swap deals and signing free agents given the financial implications of the coronavirus pandemic.
Dembele netted 22 times across all competitions for Lyon during the 2019-20 campaign, with top-flight football in France concluded early following the ongoing outbreak.
