Aston Villa have reportedly set their sights on securing another loan move for Manchester United youngster Axel Tuanzebe after the defender impressed in the Championship last season.
The newly promoted side have recently completed the £20m signing of Tyrone Mings, who also enjoyed a fruitful 2018-19 campaign at Villa Park, and will now focus on signing Tuanzebe for a third successive loan spell.
While Tuanzebe's first season at Villa was hampered by injuries, the 21-year-old played a key role in winning promotion to the Premier League last term, making 30 appearances including a powerful performance in the playoff final victory over Derby County.
According to the Telegraph, Villa are prepared to wait and see if United decide to use Tuanzebe in the first team or ship him out on loan for next season before launching an approach.
United recently rewarded Tuanzebe for his endeavours at Villa with a new contract until 2022 with the option of a further year.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is expected to give Tuanzebe, who has made eight senior appearances for United, a chance to demonstrate his worth during the club's pre-season tour of Australia, Singapore and China.
