Atletico Madrid are reportedly prepared to battle Manchester United in the race to sign Paris Saint-Germain forward Edinson Cavani.
The Uruguay international is currently set to be out of contract at the end of the season, which has inevitably led to frequent speculation regarding his future.
A number of top European clubs, including United, have been linked with an approach for the 32-year-old in one of the next two transfer windows.
However, according to L'Equipe, Atletico are ready to provide Cavani with an opportunity to make the switch to La Liga.
The frontman allegedly holds a desire to remain at the highest level in Europe, and Atletico may potentially view him as a replacement for Diego Costa.
Cavani is said to have no interest in signing for newly-formed MLS side Inter Miami at this stage of his career.
