Manchester United are reportedly toying with the idea of making a future bid for Atletico Madrid goalkeeper Jan Oblak.
The Red Devils have undertaken a major reshuffle between the sticks during the summer transfer window, seeing both David de Gea and Dean Henderson depart on a permanent basis.
Andre Onana has been signed in a £47m deal from Inter Milan, while Turkish goalkeeper Altay Bayindir has been acquired to act as backup.
However, the former has enjoyed a mixed start to life at Old Trafford, conceding 14 goals in his first seven matches between the sticks.
One of those came from a mistake from the Cameroon international, who let a Leroy Sane shot squirm through his fingers for Bayern Munich's opener in the Champions League tussle between the two clubs last week.
Onana responded by publicly taking the blame for what turned into a 4-3 defeat at the Allianz Arena, Ten Hag responding by dismissing those comments from his goalkeeper.
At the weekend, Onana responded by keeping a clean sheet - just his second for United - against Burnley in a 1-0 win, easing the pressure on being constantly scrutinised on social media.
Nevertheless, according to Fichajes, United still hold a lingering interest in eventually signing Oblak.
The Slovenia international has just started his 10th campaign at Atletico, making a total of 398 appearances in all competitions during a stint that has also included two La Liga titles.
Oblak has subsequently established himself as one of the best goalkeepers in European football and has never been short of admirers in his signature.
That said, he has remained put at Atletico and holds a contract until 2028, yet the report indicates that there are 'clauses and conditions' that could make a switch to United a possibility in the future.
Atletico would allegedly prefer to wait until next summer to deal with any bids made for Oblak, something which is expected to suit United who would realistically not change goalkeepers at the midway point of 2023-24.
From Oblak's perspective, he would reportedly welcome the chance to take on a new challenge if an agreement could be reached between Atletico and United.
