Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has reportedly told Eric Bailly that he remains a part of his plans for the new season, despite the club stepping up their efforts to land a new centre-back.
The Red Devils are said to be torn between whether to sign Harry Maguire from Leicester City or Tottenham Hotspur ace Toby Alderweireld.
Having started just two games in the final two months of the previous campaign, Bailly is understood to have grown concerned about his Old Trafford future beyond this summer.
According to the Manchester Evening News, however, Mourinho has no plans to sell the Ivory Coast international, who was his first signing upon being appointed United boss two years ago.
Bailly has started three pre-season matches and is supposedly pencilled in to start next month's Premier League opener against Leicester City alongside Chris Smalling.
