Sao Paulo director Adalberto Baptista has revealed that Manchester United are unlikely to sign Brazilian starlet Lucas Moura this summer.
The former Premier League champions have been embroiled in a tussle with the South American side over the 19-year-old, who was originally believed to have agreed a £26m fee.
"There are no negotiations going on," Baptista told ESPN Brasil. "Everybody knows that we got an offer for him, and rejected it. It's also known that Lucas doesn't want to leave. The only person keeping the expectations alive is his agent.
"The decision is final. There will always be great team going after great players. This mismatch between the European and Brazilian transfer window makes it hard for national clubs, and we have to deal with that."
The teenage sensation has been with Sao Paulo since 2010.
