Barcelona are reportedly keeping a close eye on Jadon Sancho's situation at Manchester United with a view to potentially making a move during the January transfer window.
The 23-year-old is currently training away from the first team at Old Trafford due to a disciplinary matter.
Red Devils head coach Erik ten Hag said after the clash with Arsenal on September 3 that Sancho had been left out of the Premier League match due to some poor performances in training.
The England international rejected those claims on social media, and his statement, which was critical of Ten Hag, remained on his 'X' profile until Tuesday afternoon, when it was deleted.
Sancho is allegedly refusing to apologise to his manager, though, which has led to the decision being made for the former Manchester City youngster to be removed from the first-team picture.
Ten Hag has admitted that he 'does not know' whether the Englishman will play for Man United again.
Nottingham Forest, Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich are among the clubs said to be interested in signing the forward, if he becomes available at the start of 2024.
According to Sport, Barcelona are 'attentive to the situation', with the Catalan outfit identifying the forward as a genuine target during the January transfer window.
A permanent move for the Englishman would be very difficult due to the La Liga team's financial problems, but a loan move in the winter market is thought to be possible.
As it stands, there is not believed to have been any contact from Barcelona, with the club instead closely monitoring the situation at Old Trafford.
Man United are thought to have been willing to let Sancho move to the Saudi Pro League before the division's deadline, but a potential switch to Al Ettifaq broke down.
The forward was regarded as one of the best young talents in European football during his time at Dortmund, scoring 50 goals and registering 64 assists in 137 appearances for the club in all competitions.
Sancho has found it difficult to make his mark at Old Trafford, though, managing just 12 goals and six assists in 82 appearances in all competitions.
