Barcelona's proposed move for Lyon's Memphis Depay has reportedly collapsed due to Manchester United calling off a deal for Ousmane Dembele.
Dembele was tipped to make a last-minute switch to the Red Devils after an underwhelming time at Barca, but with La Blaugrana supposedly wanting a permanent deal whilst United were looking at a loan move, an agreement was never reached.
With Barcelona not able to pursue any further signings unless Dembele completed a transfer away from the club, RMC Sport states that Depay's move to Camp Nou has collapsed at the last minute.
The report claims that the Netherlands international was closing in on a switch to the La Liga giants and Lyon had sent Barcelona the paperwork to complete the deal, but Depay will continue to represent Lyon after that move fell through.
Following the departure of Luis Suarez to Atletico Madrid, Depay was one of two frontmen strongly linked with a move to Catalonia alongside Inter Milan's Lautaro Martinez, who ultimately stayed with the Serie A giants.
