Spanish champions Barcelona have reportedly offered Thiago Alcantara a fresh deal.
The 22-year-old has been heavily linked with an £18m switch to Manchester United this summer, with some speculation claiming that the two parties have already agreed personal terms.
However, Barca are keen to keep hold of the attacking midfielder and during a meeting with president Sandro Rosell on Friday, Thiago's father and agent Mazinho was assured that his son would shortly be handed improved terms to remain at Camp Nou, according to Goal.com.
Despite the offer, the report went on to add that Thiago may still opt to join David Moyes's United, who can offer him more regular football ahead of next year's World Cup.
