Manchester United chief executive Ed Woodward has reportedly held talks with the agent of Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema over a proposed move this summer.
The Red Devils official is said to have been spotted with the player's representative Karim Djaziri earlier this week, as rumours linking the Frenchman with a £40m switch continue to surface.
According to the Manchester Evening News, a move could now be wrapped up after positive talks during the London meeting earlier this week.
United are looking to bolster their attacking options, with Wayne Rooney's 14 goals last season the lowest top-scoring tally for the club since 1982.
Elsewhere, Robin van Persie's future is also in doubt, having recently conceded that he is in a "difficult situation" at Old Trafford.
