Manchester United midfielder Casemiro reportedly has regrets over his transfer to Old Trafford during the summer transfer window.
After taking his silverware tally to 18 at Real Madrid, Casemiro had been expected to continue into a 10th season at the Santiago Bernabeu.
However, an approach from United led to the Brazil international informing Carlo Ancelotti that he felt it was the right time to take on a new challenge.
Given United's early-season defeats to Brighton & Hove Albion and Brentford, the 30-year-old had been expected to slot seamlessly into Erik ten Hag's midfield.
Nevertheless, that has not proven to be the case with United recording home victories over Liverpool and Arsenal without the £60m player in their side.
Instead, Casemiro has been restricted to just 82 minutes of top-flight football across four substitute outings, the bulk of his game time instead coming in the Europa League.
Two starts and one substitute appearance has come in that competition, totalling 217 minutes, but it appears that the experienced South American feels that he may have made the wrong decision.
According to Todofichajes, Casemiro has already told friends that he has regrets over his transfer to the Premier League giants.
The report suggests that he would welcome a return to Real Madrid if it became possibility, something which is not thought to be realistic given the transfer fees involved.
Furthermore, it is claimed that Casemiro would be open to a loan exit during the January window in order to gain regular game time.
With Casemiro initially tied to United until 2026, and with United possessing the option for an extra year, a departure so soon after his arrival appears highly unlikely.
However, another pivotal factor could revolve around Cristiano Ronaldo, a friend and former Real Madrid teammate of Casemiro who may be given permission to leave the Theatre of Dreams at the start of 2023.
Casemiro will hope to make his first Premier League start of the season when United travel to Goodison Park to face Everton on Sunday evening.
