Chelsea have moved to rival Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United for the signing of Inter Milan defender Milan Skriniar this summer, according to a report.
The Slovakian international has become one of the most highly sought after defenders in Europe after his impressive performances in Serie A for a number of years.
Skriniar has featured in 34 league games so far this season, helping Inter to challenge city rivals AC Milan for the Scudetto on the final day of the campaign on Sunday.
However, the defender's stay at the San Siro is coming under threat from the trio of Premier League clubs according to La Gazzetta dello Sport, who report that the English sides are all interested in a move in the upcoming transfer window.
Entering the final 12 months of his contract in June, Inter are aware of the threat of losing Skriniar for a cut-price fee this summer, or on a free transfer in 2023.
Although, the report outlines how the Italian side are preparing a contract extension that would extend the former Sampdoria defender's stay with the club until 2027, which would include a yearly salary increase from €4.5m (£3.8m) to around €5m (£4.2m).
Following his £30m move from Sampdoria to Inter in 2017, Skriniar has gone on to make 214 appearances for the club across all competitions, with his next potentially being in the title-deciding match against his former side at the San Siro on Sunday. body check tags ::
