Chris Smalling is reportedly training away from the Manchester United first team as the English giants continue negotiations with Roma over a potential return to Italy.
The central defender impressed during a loan spell at Roma last term, but the Serie A giants have thus far been unable to negotiate a permanent deal for the 30-year-old.
According to the Daily Mail, Smalling is currently training on his own as the Red Devils remain locked in talks with Roma over the possibility of a return before the end of the summer transfer window.
The former Fulham youngster made has made over 300 appearances for United in all competitions, winning two Premier League titles during his time at the club.
Smalling is now behind the likes of Harry Maguire, Victor Lindelof and Eric Bailly in the pecking order at Old Trafford, though, and is allegedly available for transfer.
United, who have signed Donny van de Beek from Ajax this summer, are due to start their 2020-21 Premier League season at home to Crystal Palace on September 19.
