Doncaster Rovers have reportedly shown an interest in taking Manchester United striker Federico Macheda on loan.
Macheda is surplus to requirements at United and has just entered the final year of his contract at Old Trafford.
United will allow the Italian to leave for a fourth loan spell this season, with Rovers hopeful of persuading the 21-year-old to play regular first-team football in the Championship, according to the Daily Mail.
In January last season Macheda joined Bundesliga side Stuttgart on a five-month loan deal, but failed to score in 18 appearances.
The Italian forward has also spent time at Sampdoria and Queens Park Rangers since bursting onto the scene with United as a teenager.
Macheda's agent Giovanni Bia confirmed last week that his client will leave on a free next summer when his current deal expires.
