Erik ten Hag confirms Jadon Sancho situation is unchanged

Manchester United head coach Erik ten Hag has revealed that there has been no change in Jadon Sancho's situation at the club ahead of Saturday's Premier League clash with Sheffield United.

The 23-year-old has not turned out for the Red Devils since the end of August due to his falling-out with Ten Hag, which occurred in the aftermath of the Arsenal match at the start of September.

Ten Hag said that Sancho was not involved at the Emirates Stadium due to some poor training performances, but the Englishman insisted that was not the case, claiming that he had been made "a scapegoat".

The two individuals have allegedly had limited contact since then, with Sancho not in the first-team picture in terms of selection or at the Carrington training base.

A number of senior players at Man United have allegedly urged the ex-Manchester City attacker to apologise to his manager, which is believed to be his only route back into favour.

However, it appears that Sancho will not back down, with Borussia Dortmund said to be ready to offer him the chance to return to the club on loan in January.

The forward, who has been left out of a Man United squad photo, is also believed to be attracting the attention of Barcelona and Juventus.

When asked about Sancho during his press conference to preview Saturday's game with Sheffield United, Ten Hag responded: "Everything has been said about him."

The Englishman will therefore again be absent against the Blades, with the Red Devils bidding to make it successive wins in the Premier League following their narrow success over Brentford before the international break.

Sheffield United are bottom of the Premier League table, picking up just a single point from their opening eight matches, but Ten Hag is expecting a tough examination this weekend.

"Every game in the Premier League is difficult, if you have seen their results against [Manchester] City and Spurs (Tottenham Hotspur), they were very narrow wins," said the Dutchman.

"If you don't play your best football, you can have a loss. We won our last game away, finally it's not about that.

"You can't figure out the past and last year we were third in the league, we won a cup, we were in another final, we live in the future, we have to change the future."

Man United have won four and lost four of their Premier League matches this season, and they will follow this weekend's contest with a key Champions League fixture against Copenhagen at Old Trafford on Tuesday. body check tags ::
