Marouane Fellaini's future at Manchester United is growing even more uncertain amid reports that his agent has held talks with Napoli over a possible move to Serie A.
The 26-year-old does not yet know whether he features in the plans of new United manager Louis van Gaal, having struggled to make any sort of impression since joining from Everton for £27m last summer.
The Red Devils have already recruited Ander Herrera during this transfer window and are believed to be interested in Roma star Kevin Strootman, a swoop which would put Fellaini's midfield berth in serious jeopardy.
According to The Express, Napoli are hoping to capitalise on United's apparent willingness to let the Belgian leave and had sporting director Riccardo Bigon fly to Brussels to meet with Fellaini and his agent.
The Italian outfit reportedly want to take Fellaini, who failed to score in 21 appearances last season, on loan initially before deciding whether or not to invest what would be a sizable fee on the former Toffee.
Napoli manager Rafael Benitez wants to add fresh life to his midfield and has been linked with Tottenham Hotspur duo Sandro and Etienne Capoue, who came close to signing for them in January.
