Bayer Leverkusen defender Jeremie Frimpong would reportedly prefer a move to Manchester United over Bayern Munich and Barcelona.
Frimpong has been in fine form this season, scoring eight goals and providing nine assists in 36 competitive appearances.
Impressively, three of those strikes have arrived in his previous four league appearances, including in last weekend's 3-0 win over Schalke.
The Dutchman, who can play as a full-back or wing-back, is under contract with the Bundesliga club until June 2025.
However, Man United are believed to be interested in the 22-year-old and have already opened talks with the player's representatives.
Erik ten Hag is supposedly unconvinced by Diogo Dalot and Aaron Wan-Bissaka, and as result, he is looking to sign a new right-back.
A recent report claimed that the Red Devils could face competition from Bayern Munich and Barcelona, who have both been credited with an interest in Frimpong.
According to Bild, Man United have received a boost in their pursuit, as Frimpong would favour a move to Old Trafford rather than Bayern or Barcelona.
The former Celtic right-back is said to be a fan of Manchester after spending much of his formative years in the city.
Frimpong moved to Manchester at the age of seven, before he went on to join the Manchester City academy as a nine-year-old.
The full-back remained with Manchester United's rivals until 2019 when he completed a move to Celtic without making a senior appearance for Man City.
In a separate report, The Mirror states that Leverkusen would be willing to sanction a sale if they receive a £44m bid.
Frimpong, who is yet to be capped by the Netherlands national side, has made a total of 83 appearances during his time as a Leverkusen player, contributing 10 goals and 18 assists. body check tags ::
