Jude Bellingham's father is reportedly pushing for the Borussia Dortmund midfielder to join Liverpool.
The 19-year-old is widely expected to leave BVB during next summer's transfer window, with many of the leading clubs in European football said to be competing for his signature.
Liverpool have long been linked with the England international, while there is also said to be firm interest from both Real Madrid and Manchester City.
A recent report claimed that Real Madrid are lining up an offer in excess of €100m (£88.5m) for Bellingham, with the Spanish and European champions determined to win the race for his signature.
However, according to Football Insider, the teenager's father is pushing for his son to join Jurgen Klopp's side in the summer of 2023.
The report claims that Bellingham has had his head turned by interest from Man City and Real Madrid, with the duo likely to be able to offer him a higher salary than Liverpool.
However, the midfielder's father Mark Bellingham is of the opinion that a switch to Anfield would be the best decision at this stage of his career.
Bellingham impressed for England at the 2022 World Cup, scoring once and providing one assist in five appearances, as the Three Lions reached the quarter-finals of the competition.
The former Birmingham City youngster has also starred at club level this term, scoring nine goals and registering three assists in 22 appearances in all competitions.
Bellingham has three goals and two assists in 15 Bundesliga outings this term, while he scored four times and provided one assist in five Champions League group-stage appearances.
Manchester United and Chelsea have also been heavily linked with the youngster, but it is believed that the pair are behind Liverpool, Real Madrid and Man City in the race for his signature.
Bellingham made the move to BVB from Birmingham in 2020, and he has represented the German club on 112 occasions in all competitions, contributing 19 goals and 21 assists in the process.
Liverpool have also been linked with Benfica's Enzo Fernandez and West Ham United's Declan Rice, but Bellingham is said to be the club's leading midfield target for the summer.
The Englishman will reportedly hold talks with Dortmund in the near future to discuss his situation, but a January exit is believed to be highly unlikely despite the recent speculation. body check tags ::
