Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has reportedly urged the club to sign Jude Bellingham from Borussia Dortmund next summer.
The 18-year-old is enjoying a burgeoning reputation having established himself as a regular for both club and country despite his age, catching the attention of a number of top European clubs.
Liverpool are thought to be the most interested party as things stand, although the likes of Manchester United, Chelsea, Manchester City, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain have also been linked.
El Nacional reports that Dortmund would demand a €100m (£85m) fee for Bellingham, and that Klopp is desperate for the Reds to beat their rivals to his signature from his former club.
Liverpool are in the market for midfield reinforcements having allowed Georginio Wijnaldum to leave the club last summer, while the likes of Jordan Henderson, Thiago Alcantara and James Milner are all now aged over 30.
However, Dortmund are reluctant to part ways with the England international either in January or next summer, particularly as they anticipate losing Erling Braut Haaland too.
Should Liverpool meet Dortmund's reported asking price then Bellingham would become the club's most expensive signing ever, surpassing the £75m they spent on Virgil van Dijk.
Bellingham has made 24 appearances for Dortmund so far this season, scoring three goals and creating nine more.
